How to make Vella Dosai

  • Step 1: To prepare this recipe, start by taking a mixing bowl and add wheat flour, rice flour, grated coconut, cardamom powder along with water and beat it into a smooth batter.
  • Step 2: Now, take a pan over a low flame and grease it with ghee. When the pan is hot, pour the batter in the centre using a ladle. Spread the batter in a circular shape to form the dosa shaped.
  • Step 3: Sprinkle a few drops of ghee around the edges of the dosai and cook for a minute. Flip it over and let the other side cook. The Vella Dosai will be ready when both sides turn golden brown, one side is more brown than the other though.
  • Step 4: Transfer the cooked Vella Dosai onto a serving plate and roll it. Top it with a little honey and enjoy the delicious sweet treat!
